Health and safety inspections.

In conjunction with our joint trade union colleagues, UNISON health and safety representatives are about to begin a process of workplace inspections. They are designed to be inclusive of all premisis were city council staff carry out work.

JOB EVALUATION

What is job evaluation?
Job Evaluation (JE) is an attempt to provide a systematic approach to determining the relative worth of jobs within a workplace. Job Evaluation itself does not determine the rate of pay it simply produces a hierarchy of jobs. Job Evaluation is not about the job holder - it is about the demands made by the job and the value of the job in the organisation.

Job Evaluation is coming to your Work Area?

You need to advise UNISON branch office if you are selected for an interview, this is so that they can arrange a trained trade union representative to attend your interview.

Unison Trade Union representatives are fully trained in the JE process, i.e. protocols and     procedures and can fully support members throughout the process.

 What if I am not in a Trade Union?    

We would strongly advise you to Join Unison so that we can give you support throughout the Job Evaluation process.

As UNISON members you will also be balloted at the end of the process as to whether you accept the Job Evaluation scheme or not.

If you are not members of a trade union you will not take part of the democratic process of balloting to accept or not.
